"God didn't take away my ability to
create—He gave it a new purpose."

This is a place where I share some of the things that helped me rediscover purpose and joy during my journey with PNES. Through prayer, creativity, storytelling, and music, God opened doors I never expected to walk though and helped me find

hope again.

Daily Prayer and Bible Time

One of the most important parts of my day is spending time with God.

Sometimes that happens first thing in the morning. Other days it happens later in the afternoon when I can sit outside on the back steps with my Bible App and a soda and simply enjoy God's creation. Those moments have become some of my favorites.

I find myself thanking God for the simple things I once hurried past-the blue skies, the puffy clouds, the green grass, the trees, and even the little birds that stop by my feeder.

Living with PNES has forced me to slow down. While I never would have chosen this journey, slowing down has helped me notice blessings that were there all along.

Prayer has become less about routine and more about relationship. It is where I bring God my fears, my gratitude, my questions, and my hopes for tomorrow.

Whether I'm reading Scripture, listening quietly, or simply watching the birds outside, those moments remind me that God is still present, still faithful, and still writing my story.

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Matthew 6:34

Creativity Through Storytelling

Stories have always lived in my imagination—long before PNES entered my life. I was always creating characters, adventures, and "what if" worlds in my mind.

After my diagnosis, I worried that part of me had been lost. Creating stories helped me discover that it wasn't gone—it was simply waiting for a new way to be expressed.

AI has become a creative partner that helps me transform ideas into scripts, characters, settings, and audio dramas. It allows me to bring stories to life in ways I never could before.

Some stories are inspired by childhood memories. Some are adventures. Some are simply creative exercises. Together, they have become another part of my healing journey—a reminder that creativity can survive even when life changes unexpectedly.

Creating stories reminded me that PNES had changed my life,

but it had not taken away my imagination.

Creating with AI

AI has also played a role in shaping Seizing Hope.

When we first began imagining the website, we had ideas, notes, and a vision, but it was often difficult to picture how everything would come together. AI helped transform those ideas into visual mockups that gave us direction and inspiration as we built each page.

It didn't create our story, our faith, or our purpose. Those were already there. What it did was help us see new possibilities and provide a roadmap for bringing our vision to life.

For me, AI has become more than a technology tool. It has become a creative partner—helping me explore stories, scripts, songs, images, and audio dramas. Through that process, I rediscovered a part of myself that I thought had been lost.

Technology provided the tools.

Faith, perseverance, and purpose provided the direction.

Music That Helped Me Find Joy Again

One day, Diane gave me a personalized song. That gift sparked something unexpected—it inspired me to explore songwriting and begin creating music of my own.

Some songs are reflective. Some are faith-filled. Some are about living with PNES. Not everything I have created has been serious—I have made some really silly songs, too. But for this website, I wanted to share the songs that helped me express what I was feeling when words alone were not enough.

Creating music helped me rediscover joy.

Featured Songs

Ballad of the Kind Word

I wrote The Ballad of the Kind Word because we never truly know what someone else is carrying. This song is a reminder that kindness costs little, yet it can bring hope, encouragement, and light into someone's darkest moments.

Rewrite

I wrote Rewrite after spending hours asking AI to rewrite paragraphs. It inspired a simple idea: when negative thoughts appear, try to "rewrite" them. It doesn't always work, but it often helps me find a more hopeful perspective.

What If I Just Don't Worry

I wrote WHAT IF I Just Don't Worry because I spent years asking "What if this happens?" and "What if that goes wrong?" The song is a reminder that worry steals peace, and sometimes the best question we can ask is, "What if everything turns out okay?"

PNES is Real

I wrote P.N.E.S. Is Real to share my journey and help others understand that P.N.E.S. is a real and life-changing condition. It tells the story of some of my most difficult moments and reminds others facing this diagnosis that they are not alone.

Equal Ground

I wrote Equal Ground because I spent years believing I was somehow less than everyone around me. This song is about learning my own worth and realizing that no one stands above or below anyone else—we all stand on equal ground.

More Than I Deserve

I wrote More Than I Deserve because I sometimes find myself wanting more, only to realize that I already have everything I truly need. This song is about gratitude, contentment, and recognizing the blessings God has already provided.
